Anti-dumping measures

Anti-dumping measures are trade-defense actions directed at imports considered to be sold at unfairly low prices in an importing market. In steel-sector reporting, the term covers legal, regulatory and commercial mechanisms used to address alleged dumping and its effects on domestic producers. The archive concept includes investigations, duties, quotas, legal defenses, consultations and policy changes connected with anti-dumping cases. It is relevant when such measures affect steel exports, market access or the competitive position of producers. The concept is narrower than general trade protection: an article should use it when anti-dumping action or defense is a meaningful part of the event rather than merely mentioning trade barriers in passing.
