Value-added products

Value-added products are steel products positioned beyond basic high-volume material through additional processing, coating, finishing or product specialization. The term describes a product mix intended to provide more value than standard commodity forms, without identifying one single manufacturing route. The archive uses this concept for developments involving products such as cold-rolled, galvanized, coated, fastener and stainless steel products when the source presents them as part of a higher-value product strategy. It is distinct from a general reference to steel products or export tonnage alone.
